Team CDLT Strong showing!  Until next year, let every day be Earth Day.  And after that too.....

EV life yesterday: left Leav with 100% battery bound for Twisp meeting.  Plugged in 2 blocks away for those 3 hrs; free.  Then to Winthrop.  Decided no need to charge there (for free; 3 blocks away).  Drove to middle of nowhere high above Bridgeport, then all the way home.  290 mi.  Didn't do a dang thing different than ICE car except....

Christine set record in Bolt.  Round-trip to Seattle.  250 mi without charging.  Nothing about ticks....

    • Louise Simons 5/23/2018 11:04 PM
Congratulations Christine!   That is fantastic!  Only EV owners can know how incredible that feels.  I’m jealous of that range...

Today is day to roll down the exterior shades on three E-facing windows which unlike the S side of the house have no protective ovehangs so the sun comes pouring in half the day.  (Google "coolaroo" shades.)  No need for a/c when we control heat gain.  Makes a huge difference in comfort with so little effort.

Drove EV 184 miles.  First trip into sagebrush county.  Longest single trip so far.  Hopefully wife and BD member en route to Seattle today don't get any ticks I brought home.

Drove EV to take train-buff dad to RR museum in Cle Elum.  Turns out 100 years ago electric trains using "white coal" (current on the overhead wires) powered all trains on that RR and they added power back into the grid when running downhill, to be used by other trains climbing the mountains on the other side.  A lot like EVs today.  But then "progress" happened and they were replaced by diesel locomotives.  Back To The Future?

So interesting!  My dad already wants to visit the museum...Also, I’m reading The biography of Elon Musk.  I WILL have a Tesla!!  (One day😉)

Strange but true: sagebrush smells better when wet.

Shut the neighborhood irrigation system off last night before going to bed.  Woke up to real rain tapping the roof.

Yesterday as I walked down Chelan Ave to the bike shop I snagged a few bottles and cans in the gutter, the idea being I'd drop them in a recycle bin along the way.  It's a habit.  Near the old USPS some guy rolls down his window and I'm thinking "what now?"  Then I realize he's yelling "Hey!  Hey! I saw you do that!  Thanks for picking that up!"  I gave him a thumbs up and he drove off....

OK giving myself credit today for visiting Waste Mgt facility.  Truth be told they are unable to show ma around when I'm in Spokane visiting family Mem Day weekend.  But at least I watched their video again.  Considering this is something I've wanted to do for years I promise to fulfill this later this year.  And yes, I really do like my Spokane relatives just fine.
