I took my own plate, silverware, napkin, and waterbottle to a potluck today.  Felt good to not waste all those disposable dishes.  If only I had brought enough for everyone, haha!

I have a metal straw that I keep in my purse which keeps me from using disposable straws.  I have heard that some people don't like the "taste" of metal straws and prefer the glass ones, but I don't taste anything from my straw.  It is very fun to use!

Participated in a Birdfest activity today!  It was a wonderful wildflower hike put on by members of the Native Plant Society.

I'm already enjoying reading over the things I am grateful for.  Taking a deep breath and reading over the list calms me down.

I didn't realize how "unmindfully" I was eating breakfast and lunch.  Since starting the ecochallenge it has seemed like a lot of effort to get myself outside on my lunch break without my phone or a list of errands, but once I'm there it's wonderful!  I want to keep this going after the challenge is over.

I took my own cloth napkin to a work function today.  I have a reusable straw in my purse.  I think I will just keep some silverware, a to-go cup, and a plate in my car so that I'm prepared for buffets and potlucks that only provide disposable items.  I really enjoyed using my cloth napkin today!

Finished planting our herb garden today.  I love just being able to go outside and pick some herbs for dinner.  It also saves a lot of money.  Another benefit is that I won't be wasting as much plastic because I won't be buying those little packs of herbs at the grocery store!

I have been practicing fuel-efficient driving for two days now and it's going pretty well.  I've employed the fuel-efficient tactics with my work cargo van, and also with our Subaru.  I've found it just requires me to be more present when I'm driving which is certainly a good thing for safety too!

I had gotten into a bad habit of rushing through my breakfast and eating lunch in front of the computer.  Today I really enjoyed eating my meals mindfully and without distraction.  I am glad I chose this particular action!

One of the most challenging actions I chose was to ride the bus everyday.  Just looked at the bus schedule to make my plan for tomorrow!
