Cheryl Roberts 5/19/2019 1:39 PMHello all! Last day of the challenge and although we didn’t get it posted every day we worked at it every day. Over the course of the challenge we averaged collecting a 5 gallon pail of coffee grounds every day! At 35 pounds per pale that’s 350 pounds of coffee grounds turned into compost instead of going to the landfill! We are just beginning to brew our own worm tea and are hoping to find local gardeners to market this amazing soil conditioner to, and in turn help fund our growth! Exciting times!

Cheryl Roberts 5/13/2019 3:26 PMHello friends, A few days before the challenge actually started we begin collecting used coffee grounds from two of the Latte stands that we frequent. So far we have averaged collecting a 5 gallon pail per day!
Additionally we purchased a good amount of red wiggler composting worms, and started our first worm bin, which has already expanded to two bins! Our worms really like the coffee grounds so as our worm farm grows will be able to recycle more grounds!
The eco-challenge was great incentive to get this project started that we had been talking about for a while...Thanks!
Sorry haven’t had much time to post...
Good luck to you all, and thank you for your efforts to help Mother Earth!-
Jeanne Poirier 5/13/2019 9:06 PMThose worms are awesome!! They'll like so much of the right food waste. Good on you!
