This challenge has been a great adventure!  Even though I have always paid close attention to environmental issues, especially at home, I definitely improved in several areas.  Thank you!

Carefully watered all of our tiny trees / shrubs that were planted last fall. They were not much larger than seedlings from Derby Canyon Native Plants in Peshastin. One of the wild roses actually has a flower on it!  :-)

Great day!  I am learning a lot with this event. Thank you!

During my daily challenge of 60 minutes of exercise (with Zach in tow) I managed to trip on a root just before getting back to my car... flat on ground.. now have a skinned knee to go with all the other  mishaps from the past couple of months.  Good grief!!  Just like when I was a kid... skinned knees constantly!!  Oh well, the flowers were beautiful!  Wild Roses are at their peak now. Such a delicious aroma filling the forest.

Heading out with my dog, Zachary, to give him a good run up at Ski Hill, and to give myself a nice early morning walk.
The snow is ALMOST totally off Wedge Mountain, meaning all items can be planted now.  :-)

Sunday: lots of weed trimming, mowing, and not much else today. Place looks a bit better.  :-)

  • Joyce Stevens 5/19/2018 6:20 PM
What a lovely drink everything got yesterday morning!  Hoping to mow tomorrow if it stays dry.  :-)

Hoping for a short 'break' in the downpour to get tomatoes planted today. The snow is pretty much off of Wedge Mountain, so they can be planted now. :-)

Zach (my dog) and I joined another Leavenworth resident and her dog for our 'walk' up at Ski Hill this morning. Needless to say, Zach got SOAKED, with such a short coat of hair. Her dog, a Corgi, has a double coat, so better prepared for rain. Even with an umbrella it was wet, but all smelled delightful and the sound of the rain coming down was very pleasant. So I got my daily challenge of 60 minutes of exercise in.

Trying to figure out how to send a message to another team mate on this site?
Want to share the King5 article about Carniolan honey bee hives on top of oldest church in Seattle? They are starting with one hive, hope to build up to 20. Apparently there is also an urban hive on the roof of the Olympic Hotel in Seattle.
