Joleen Ochs 5/20/2019 8:10 AMThis was fun. I enjoyed having a few things to think about throughout the day in order to make more conscious decisions about my impact. I feel like I try to find things to be thankful for daily, but I noticed that as I went to check it off and had to make a point of naming things, (or calling loved one) I was more mindful and it felt more impactful to myself than just going throughout the day with a grateful attitude. This is something that I really think everyone should attempt to practice. -
Joleen Ochs 5/19/2019 11:25 AMhmm... I go outside for respite, runs, and even walks but "riding my bike 3 miles" has been my biggest daily challenge that I miss... interesting. -
Joleen Ochs 5/19/2019 11:21 AMAvoiding disposables when you're out and about has been both challenging, as well as fun. Apparently I need to carry a "to go" container in my car at all times. lol. It's easy when you eat at home, but avoiding disposables at larger events that others are hosting has been interesting. I was at a dinner gathering and they served everything with disposables - It didn't feel right to ask to use their "real" plates and cutlery so i just reused my plate and grabbed a real fork. I wasn't able to claim my daily habit, but I still decreased my use. Its the small compromises that add up to success. -

Joleen Ochs 5/14/2019 8:56 PMComposting... It's exciting and terrifying at the same time... how many rats am I going to get? Is this going to just stink? Will it turn out? They make it look so easy... could it really be that easy? I don't know what I'm doing... I don't really have to know do I? Don't I just ditch and spin? This is what has been going through my head since I started my compost bin!-
Jeanne Poirier 5/15/2019 6:51 PMGood adventure and hope it turns out really well!! -
Stefanie Neff 5/17/2019 8:38 PMOh my gosh it's easier than you think! My biggest issue is my dogs getting into it! Lol

Joleen Ochs 5/14/2019 8:50 PMI talked my sister into trading in her plastic bottle obsession (hates the water in Yakima) for a PUR water facet! YAY That's over 1,000 plastic bottles/year!!! -
Joleen Ochs 5/14/2019 8:46 PMI didn't get a chance to ride my bike to work today, so I walked to a volunteer appreciation dinner. Weather cleared just in time! The sun came out, and it was lovely.
