Thank you Sustainable Wenatchee and all the sponsors for bringing us this Eco-Challenge!  For myself, it stretched me and held me for two weeks to keep a practice I might not do otherwise.  The biggest bonus was being able to read everyone's feed and see how it affected them as well.  I learned we are community, we love nature and we are willing to adapt to make the future a better place by our own actions!  Blessed Be

Please don't be freaked by my counter person, Fossil Fuels - there is no living entity inside this creation and if you don't like it, I feel it's a good thing!  :). You may have seen us at Chase Bank - and we'll be back soon!!

Only one more time to make a post after this evening!  I think the very most important awareness I've made is how much time we spend in our "magic mirrors" whether it's a laptop, handheld or TV screen.  By choosing "using social media 1x/day" I've discovered I spend far more time here than I want to - AND I TRY REALLY HARD TO AVOID IT!  Look forward to falling to sleep reading a book again - though I've so enjoyed ready EVERYONE's posts!!  Take care y'all.  If we never get back here to the Eco-Challenge - (it is HARD WORK to put together and loads-of-money to support) I sure as heck have enjoyed it!!  Keep up the good work!

Realize I am going to miss the connection with y'all- and yes, the gold cups and stars when I've completed by challenges.  So glad the forecast tomorrow is benign for our event at Touch-A-Truck!!  Hope it's sunny enough for the solar toys to work!  Sleep well tonight eveyone - stay healthy, grow local and my deep gratitude to Sustainable Wenatchee for putting the Eco-Challenge together another year - and yes, to the sponsors and everyone who donated.  POST WHILE YOU CAN PEOPLE!!  I for one have really enjoyed it this year!! :)

OMG - what a fabulous day with our team leader Sue Kane!!  I feel honored and blessed to have had her to myself today!!  We carpooled to Rocky Reach dam, took LINK to Leavenworth and saw Wenatchee River Institute, Jubilee gift store (so hard to not buy anything since only making purchases for health and safety during Eco-Challenge) - icing on the cake was the fabulous young women at Green Drinks!!  I am deeply impressed by their power & passion, and yes I do love Icicle Brewing's Dark Persuation!!  Even in flood and power outage in area - a very powerful day.  My mom would have been 95 today if she were still here.  I can hear her saying WOW and ENJOY!!  Photo is my friend Patricia at WRI where she, Sue & I met up.  So FUN!!

Hot to cold for weather!  While I love and appreciate the moisture, I'm back in my sweater.  Crazy weather, crazy world - I sure have appreciated the sanity of this Eco-Challenge.  Hope to see and meet many folks at tomorrow evening's Green Drinks - and planning to ride LINK!!

Today I had some time between court and CCNCW meeting - so I decided to visit the library temporary location and do a hike where I'd not been before.  I was not really prepared (you never know what's going to happen in court!).  Looking at the great CDLT map I keep in the car, I chose to hike Castle Rock (since I did not have my grand-dog and he's off limits towards the top).  It was magnificent!  I heard first crickets, saw first penstemmons, buckwheats, phacelias, Oregon sunshine and much more.  Kudos to CDLT and private land-owners to make this available to us!!  I didn't carry my camera, just water or I'd share an awesome photo!!

Halfway through the Eco-Challenge now and it has been a good stretch for me!  My son & family were able to come up today and Kolo, Kaylynn & I enjoyed a beautiful hike into the Forest Service land.  Great meal and the best company!!  I still miss my mom and am so grateful to have had her.  To all my friends who still have theirs, ENJOY!!

Enjoy your photos! Nice to remember our moms on this day --I miss my mom as well--was reminded of her love of flowers as we walked in the foothills.

I’m glad you had a great day! Keep up the great work! To answer your question about my most recent post, the yardstick score is from the online home energy audit challenge. Hope you have a great rest of your mother’s day!

To any of my peers and team-mates who still have their mother - give them extra kudos tomorrow while you can!!  None of us would be here without our moms - and we won't be here a lot longer if we don't take care of our Mother Earth!!

Loved being back at Chase Bank today and for the first time in 65 years took a nap in order to have energy to be on the corner!  While only a handful of people - 10 if you count our props - I feel it's important to expose Chase as the #1 funder of all fossil fuel extractions and investments in the WORLD!  If you have an account at Chase - do your best to close it!
